A GREAT teaching tool. Allows students to construct a logical sequence of five sedimentary layers in a squeeze box, then apply a convergent force with the plunger in the box causing the layers to fold, and then fault. Shows dramatic visualization of the principle of superposition; concepts of transgression, regression and compression; patterns of change, faults and plate tectonics and more.
There are (5) pegs, spaced at 30mm, or 3cm, on the plunger shaft to control the distance the plunger is moved forward. On top of the plunger are (5) holes for peg storage.
The five pegs enables students to make "measured" changes in the amount of compression and allows students to observe changes at each compression.
Includes a complete lesson guide with student activities with tranparent 30mm graft insert and student worksheets.
Made from light weight MDF, wooden dowel, clear high impact plastic sides. Will last for a long time with proper care. Measures approximately 12 inches long, 4 inches wide, and 6 inches high.
